Off Grid Solar

About us

So you want to go Off-Grid. Here are some things to consider.

Off Grid is when you are not reliant on power being provided to your home. In most cases going Off Grid suits the homes that are off the beaten track, shacks, farms and more recently more enquiries from suburban domestic or rural settings.

 

Things to consider with your enquiry is budget, what you are powering and where you are.

 

Our two main enquiries are on running a normal home or a smaller powered option. A normal home Off Grid would require over 6kw of Solar and is around 3 times more expensive than a Grid Connected average solar install with a battery. We offer four, 6kw plus Off Grid Packages.

 

Off Grid under 6kw becomes more tailor made and is something we don’t offer in our current Off Grid Packages. These small scale systems are more designed for minimum power requirements on basic appliances and perhaps utilising gas for stove and hot water and wood for heating.

 

Off Grid can be complicated and if you can, consider going Grid Connected (Hybrid). Using a domestic Solar System with a battery, feeding the battery first and using that battery power generated but having the security of not running out of battery power entirely or relying on a generator.

Arvio Independence Day System

The Arvio Titan Long Life Batteries are the latest and greatest in battery technology and the feature of the Arvio Independence Day System. This battery shows the potential of up to one million (1,000,000) cycles. Arvio states that they “expect unrivalled full performance levels for the first 40 years”. This is a massive breakthrough when we consider that Lithium Acid batteries have a life expectancy of just 5000 to 6000 cycles.

Not only does the battery have unparalleled performance, it is eco-friendly too! The battery is made of carbon sprinkles (graphine particles) on paper, all rolled up tight in an aluminium outer case. As the Arvio battery is made of natural products, it can be composted at end of life.
